Self Build Garden Room – Facade Design
The constraints of capital, available area and context limit a great deal of design flexibility. The form is largely informed by these constraints and the functionality informed by a personal desire for an economy of space. However, as an architect, limiting this project to a pureley functional mass wouldn’t be an acceptable responce to the breif. With all things considered the front facade the the location that allows for a beauty to emergy from the mundane and this is where design freedom can be released.
To tie into the driving concept for this small project, the facade ultimately needs to be an available standardised material with good sustainability credentials.
